After 15 years of publishing, Ropin' & Rodeo News ceased publication this fall. The husband-and-wife publishing team behind the magazine announced the closure in October. A farewell note, published on the accompanying website, explains that the decision was based on finances, or rather, a lack thereof.
“After thinking long and hard and with recommendations from our bank manager and accountant we are writing this letter to announce that Ropin’ & Rodeo News will close shop and cease any further paper production from this day forward.
We would like to thank all the advertisers, associations and readers for their support over the last 15 years.
We apologize for leaving our best clients hanging somewhat for a news source now but we just could not afford to make another issue of Ropin' & Rodeo News, get it printed and mail it out.
We are going to cut our losses and move on...
Sincerely,
Gordon and Shelley Weerstra”
