Quebec mag award winners announced

The big winner.
L’actualité was the big winner at the Quebec Magazine Awards (Concours des Grand Prix), held yesterday in Montreal. The Rogers Publishing-owned news and current affairs magazine—which is also nominated for 15 National Magazine Awards, including Magazine of the Year—picked up five awards, including Issue of the Year. L'actualité staff writer Daniel Chrétien, meanwhile, won the Jean Paré prize for Journalist of the Year.

Québec Science and Elle Québec followed close behind with four prizes apiece, while Jobboom and Les Éditions Infopresse each won two. 7 Jours, published by TVA Publications, took home the prize for Newsstand Magazine of the Year, while Moi & cie was named best relaunch.

The awards, handed out  each year by Magazines du Québec, reward excellence in editorial and design for magazines based in La Belle Province. For the complete list (PDF in French) of winners, click here.
