Rhona MacInnes is new(-ish) executive director at the British Columbia Association of Magazine Publishers. She was appointed in September (yes, we’re a little late with this). Prior to taking the position, MacInnes spent two years freelancing and editing. She fills the position formerly held by Ana Torres, who left for a job in the private sector in July.
Also new to BCAMP is project coordinator Heidi Waechtler. She was with the Girl Guides of Canada before taking the new job in September.
The association is gearing up for Camp BCAMP, the annual professional development retreat that will happen from Jan. 23-25 in Sidney, B.C. John Macfarlane, editor and co-publisher of The Walrus, is scheduled to give the keynote address on "the punishing business of publishing magazines in Canada."
