“The cost of printing and mailing a magazine is quite substantial and it takes a lot of money to cover that and then you have to cover staff and all of the overhead,” Holehouse said. “The cash flow just wasn’t there to cover all of that.”
Three employees were laid off as a result.
The 17-year-old magazine was published nine times a year and covered business and research news for the western Canadian forest-products industry. Forest-industry suppliers, the main advertising base, had recently cut back their spending, Holehouse said.![]() |
