Bobbi suspends publication
The publishers of Bobbi, a sort of lad mag for girls, have decided to put the young publication on hold. "There is a demand for it with the readers, but unfortunately the advertising is not there," Nash Gangji, director of operations for UMM Inc.,  told Masthead.

Will Bobbi rise from the dead?
The fall 2008 issue was the last one printed and distributed. The production cycle for winter 2009 was completed but the company decided to hold off on sending it out and "wait for the recovery of the economy."

The magazine's website has been taken down and the title's listing in CARD has been deleted.

A quarterly founded in 2006, Bobbi defined itself as a different kind of women's magazine, featuring men on its covers and incorporating coverage of gaming and autos into the usual mix of cosmetics tips and sex advice.

UMM (Urban Male Magazine), the Ottawa-based company's 11-year-old flagship title, will continue publishing, Gangji said. "It's more established [than Bobbi], so for larger companies that have budgets to spend, we’re still on their radar."
